The "Intelligent Intersection" according to VERONET was presented on 19.11.2024 at the AI trade fair of the Austrian Traffic Telematics Cluster (ATTC) in Vienna by ANDATA. It was shown how

• the identification of the appropriate mobile and sensor data for the detection and prediction of the relevant traffic situation in accordance with the 5G-mobis project,
• the identification of the best control strategy with the appropriate target variables according to the IntIntSec project,
• the trustworthy exchange of information between road users and the infrastructure by means of the digital twin of the transport infrastructure in accordance with the DIGEST project and in accordance with GAIA-X and future mobility data platforms,
• the avoidance of collisions by connecting road users with each other and with the infrastructure in accordance with the project COPE,
• a scenario management in form of Scenario Management as a Service

is combined into an intelligent traffic control system and integrated into automated traffic management.

In addition to the impressive applications, the ATTC position paper on Artificial Intelligence was also presented. It contains a large number of examples of AI use cases that have already been successfully implemented by ATTC members as well as concrete demands to the new federal government. These include a national AI strategy with a focus on mobility and transport, the expansion of a suitable data infrastructure and support measures for innovations and start-ups in the field of AI.
